Mia Durham

Mia Durham is serving her second term as a member of the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation Tribal Council after being re-elected in January 2012.

Councilwoman Durham is actively involved in the tribal community, serving as chair of the Health and Wellness Committee and as a member of the Yocha Dehe Wintun Academy Board, Community Fund Board, Cultural Resources Committee, Fire Commission, Property, Farm and Ranch Committee, the Maintenance and Operations Committee, and the Cache Creek Casino Resort Board. She also serves on the board of trustees of the UC Davis Children’s Hospital.

As chair of the Health and Wellness Committee, Councilwoman Durham is dedicated to the improved wellbeing of the Yocha Dehe community and has developed a program to focus on comprehensive wellness plans for each tribal member. Her committee is engaged in nutrition and fitness improvements, and offers assistance to tribal Elders and youth in social and mental health programs.

Councilwoman Durham is a lifelong Yolo County resident and enjoys the balance of work and culture as a Tribal Council member. She is a strong advocate for the importance of education for all tribal members and continues to further her own education while serving on the Tribal Council.
