Terry Krout

Terry Krout has been a Yocha Dehe Fire Department’s battalion chief since March 2004. Terry brings 30 years fire service experience to the department.

Terry previously worked at the Petaluma Fire Department, holding the ranks of firefighter EMT, engineer, captain and fire chief. He was elected to the board of directors for the Penngrove Fire Protection District from 1983-1988. Terry served as the fire chief in the city of Petaluma from 1988 until his retirement in 2002. 

After retiring, Terry worked in the Marin County Office of Emergency Services where he co-authored the Golden Gate Bridge Major Incident Response Plan. Terry also served Sonoma County as county coordinator for the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program. 

 

Terry holds a bachelor’s degree from Sonoma State University in biology/chemistry, is a certified chief officer and has a lifetime teaching credential in fire science.
