Yocha Dehe Fire Department
Public safety is a priority
The Yocha Dehe Fire Department (YDFD) plays a vital role in emergency response and life safety throughout the Capay Valley and Yolo County by providing full-service fire protection, technical rescue and paramedic emergency services. Our fire department serves as a community partner through mutual aid agreements with other fire departments to protect the citizens and land in Yolo County. We are proud that our fire department has become a model department in California and we will continue to invest in resources that protect our people, our land and our greater community.
In 2004, Fire Chief Mike Chandler and his staff were recruited, and YDFD evolved into a state-of-the-art fire station. Learn more about our services.
Our goal is to become one of the select fire departments in the nation to receive Fire Department Accreditation through the Center for Public Safety Excellence, Inc.
