Faculty & Administration

Yocha Dehe Wintun Academy is led by Director of Education Sarah Martinez and staff and the school’s board of trustees. Our staff and board are committed to the path of reaching cultural and linguistic goals for future generations, carrying the core values of the Tribe into all future possibilities. Director of Education

Sarah Martinez was born and raised in Sacramento, Calif. where she attended Sacramento public schools. After attending Sacramento City College for one year, Sarah transferred to the UC Davis, where she majored in Spanish and minored in sociology. She earned a bachelor’s degree in 1972.

Administrative Assistant

Robin Nelson is the administrative assistant at Yocha Dehe Wintun Academy. She has been a member of the Academy staff since April 2008.

Prior to joining the school staff, Robin worked in the drug and alcohol treatment field.

Secretary and Tribal Community Liaison

Carol Miller is the Yocha Dehe Wintun Academy secretary and tribal community liaison. 

Carol began her employment with the Tribe as the tribal office secretary and tribal services coordinator. She has been with Yocha Dehe for fourteen years. 

Primary Class Teacher

Kristi Rosing is in her second year as the primary class teacher at Yocha Dehe Wintun Academy.

Kristi graduated from the UC Santa Barbara with a bachelor’s degree in English literature, and served a term as a literacy tutor for AmeriCorps after graduation.

Behavioral Instructor

Susan Kreun joined the Yocha Dehe Wintun Academy in April 2008 as an autism behavioral instructional tutor.

Susan has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Golden Gate University. She received her certificate in the autism spectrum disorders specialized studies program through the UC Davis Extension.

Behavioral Instructor

Helga Flores joined the Yocha Dehe Wintun Academy in April 2008 as an autism behavioral instructional tutor.

Helga is attending Sacramento State University and has completed coursework in psychology and early childhood education.
